Adding Company Info to the Maps

There are a number of ways to add your company branding to the map.

1) Add the branding yourself using a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat.
2) Have a "graphics person"? They will have everything needed to edit.
3) Send OttoMaps your info and we can do it for you.

Below is a bit more info on how to do this.

DIGITAL MAP PURCHASE INCLUDES THESE FILES:

  • Files for Printing (labeled "4PRINT"):
    • PDF WITH the box is for adding your company branding info
    • PDF WITHOUT the box is ready to open and print. Use this file if you do not need to add your company branding info
  • Files for Detailed Editing:
    • Adobe Illustrator (.ai) - The original, editable, layered document used to create the map. This is fully editable and includes fonts.
    • Layered PDF file - Same as the above Illustrator document but in PDF format

USE A PDF EDITOR TO ADD YOUR COMPANY BRANDING

  • Adobe Acrobat is the most common PDF editor (see instructions below)
  • Online PDF editing services like Soda or Canva also work
    • NOTE about Canva: When exporting a Map from Canva select the "PDF Print" option when downloading, Do NOT check "Flatten PDF" and the file will stay in the proper format (vector and fully scalable)

USING ADOBE ACROBAT TO ADD YOUR BRANDING

  • Open the Map PDF labeled with "4PRINT_wBox" in Adobe Acrobat
  • Choose "Edit PDF" from the "Tools" menu
  • You may now add text and edit directly in the branding box and "Save"
  • If you have a separate file for your Company Branding, click "Add Image"
  • Navigate to the file, select it, and hit "Open"
  • Place your pointer in the branding box and click to insert the image.
  • You can resize the image by dragging the border on the edges or the corners.
  • Once the image is inserted and properly scaled into the branding box, hit "Save" or "Save As" a new PDF file.

SEPARATE FILE FOR YOUR COMPANY BRANDING

  • If you have or want to create a separate file created in software like Photoshop, Gimp, Darktable, Paintshop, etc.
  • Each box may be a bit different in size but most are 2.5"x2.5".
  • Save it as a JPG or PNG with high quality (300dpi is preferable)
    • NOTE: Do NOT choose "transparent" when saving. It should have a solid background.
